As the key link between elected representatives, Council staff, community members and external stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth coordination of civic, governance and community engagement activities.
Your ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement, maintain confidentiality and foster strong professional relationships will directly support the Mayor and Councillors in delivering positive outcomes for the Kiama community.
Key responsibilities as Executive Assistant – Councillor Liaison…
This role is to ensure the effective coordination of civic and governance activities by managing complex schedules and facilitating communication in an efficient and service orientated manner. By delivering reliable executive support, the Executive Assistant Councillor Liaison enables the Mayor and Councillors to focus on strategic priorities and community leadership while ensuring the smooth administration of Council and civic responsibilities.
What we offer...
- Permanent full-time position, 35 hours per week
Note: consideration will be given for this role to be filled on a permanent part time basis - Commencing annual salary from $82,860 to $91,354
(salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience) - Annual performance-based progression opportunity to earn up to $100,717

What you'll need to be successful in the role...
You’ll be highly organised with a high degree of professionalism, sound judgement and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Your organisational skills will enable you to successfully manage workflows, relationships, balance conflicting priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to ensure effective and sensitive liaison.
In addition to this you will have:
- A minimum of two years’ experience providing executive-level support to leaders in local government
- A minimum Certificate IV in Business (Office Administration) or equivalent 5 years’ experience in an administrative role reporting to senior management
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite products
- A minimum Class C Driver’s Licence.
