Our client is an established food manufacturing and distribution company with over 30 years of presence in Singapore, offering a diverse portfolio of premium food products and solutions to the retail, hospitality and foodservice sectors.
The role
The Purchasing Executive is responsible for managing purchasing activities across local and overseas suppliers, from purchase order processing and supplier negotiations to inventory planning and delivery coordination. The role works closely with Sales, Warehouse, Finance and Logistics teams to ensure timely procurement, effective stock management and smooth supply chain operations.
Salary: Up to S$4,200 + AWS + Variable Bonus
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:45 PM; Alternate Saturday, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Work location: North Singapore, Senoko Drive
Key Responsibilities
Manage purchase orders and ad hoc local purchases, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with company policies.
Source and negotiate with suppliers on pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Work with the Sales team to review forecasts and align purchasing plans with projected demand.
Coordinate with Warehouse teams to ensure timely receipt of goods and verify product quality and quantity.
Support the proper handling and management of perishable food products.
Work closely with Warehouse, Inventory and Logistics teams to monitor stock turnover and minimise overstocking and stock shortages.
Monitor stock levels, identify discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions where required.
Liaise with Sales, Warehouse, Finance and Logistics teams to ensure efficient order flow and resolve operational issues.
Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts and supplier documentation in accordance with company and audit requirements.
Prepare periodic purchasing reports, including spend summaries, outstanding purchase orders and supplier status updates.
Support other purchasing-related projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Diploma or higher qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration or a related discipline.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management.
Experience in the food industry, particularly purchasing or handling perishable food products, would be advantageous.
Experience working with local and/or overseas suppliers would be advantageous.
Strong analytical, forecasting and negotiation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP and data analysis.
Familiarity with data analytics and forecasting tools would be advantageous.
Knowledge of SAP HANA or other ERP systems would be advantageous.
Registered Customs Declarant certification would be an added advantage.
