The Opportunity
The Meter Reader is responsible for accurately reading water and gas meters throughout the year in Miles. You will receive on the job training and support from our team who take great pride in delivering quality work and great customer service.
The key responsibilities include:
Utilising electronic devises for example mobile telephones and tablets to read water and gas meters and log daily work summary, report incidents and receive job tasks;
Maintaining a very high accuracy in reading gas meters and water meters utilising both manual and automatic read systems;
Collecting and maintaining water and gas meter reading records;
About Yourself
A person in this position will need to be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience. It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have:
Work Health & Safety General Construction White Card
Current "C" Class Drivers Licence
Undergo a National Criminal History Police Check
Candidates:
must be physically fit, it is anticipated this position will require 10-15 kilometres of walking per day;
must provide own transportation (motor vehicle usage reimbursement can be claimed); and
must provide own mobile telephone (usage reimbursement can be claimed).
The recruitment process includes candidates completing a:
pre-employment health questionnaire; and
Literacy and numeracy aptitude test at time of interview.

Salary Packaging Available

Leave Loading
You will receive 17.5% leave loading on top of your base rate of pay, while you are on Annual Leave.
