We are actively looking to hire all levels of embedded, hardware, firmware and FPGA engineers within Melbourne and Adelaide to support a range of military based systems for various counter and offensive Defence requirements for the ADF and other foreign intelligence services.
Roles are permanent full-time, with flexibility and rewarding salary and benefits on offer.
Must have Australian Citizenship or ideally have a current or reinstatable Defence clearance.

About the Opportunity
Join a high-performing engineering team developing advanced communications, signal processing, and embedded technology solutions within a Defence and national security environment.
Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute to the design, development, integration, testing, verification, and deployment of embedded hardware and software solutions while collaborating closely with systems, FPGA, electronics, and RF engineering teams.
The Role
Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software solutions using C/C++ on Linux-based embedded platforms.
Develop and implement communication interfaces, networking protocols, and hardware integrations including Ethernet-based systems.
Support digital signal processing, real-time data processing, and embedded application development.
Participate in requirements analysis, system architecture development, and engineering design reviews.
Contribute to system integration, verification, validation, and acceptance testing activities.
Assist with troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and technical problem-solving across hardware and software environments.
Work collaboratively with systems, FPGA, RF, and electronics engineers to deliver integrated capability outcomes.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Experience developing embedded software using C and/or C++.
Experience with Linux embedded systems.
Understanding of communication systems and networking concepts.
Experience working across the engineering lifecycle including design, integration, testing, and verification.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Degree qualification in Software, Electronics, Communications, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
Desirable
Experience with digital signal processing (DSP).
Exposure to FPGA, RF, radar, or communications technologies.
Experience with Systems Engineering frameworks, requirements management, and engineering standards.
Familiarity with Defence projects and regulated engineering environments.
Experience with MATLAB or related engineering tools.
