Are you a recent Accounting graduate looking to build a strong foundation in financial accounting?

Our client is a well-established and highly respected Australian business with a national footprint and a strong reputation for quality, performance and long-term growth. They are looking for a Graduate Financial Accountant to join their finance team at their Parramatta head office. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a strong foundation across financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting, tax and business operations, while working closely with experienced finance professionals.

The candidate must have full working rights (permanent resident or Australian citizen).

About the role
Working as part of a team and reporting through to the Financial Controller, your main responsibilities will include:

• Assist with month-end processes, journals, reconciliations and management reporting
• Support financial reporting and subsidiary company accounts
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Support taxation compliance, including BAS, FBT, payroll tax and income tax
• Assist with fixed asset and cashflow reporting
• Contribute to year-end audit preparation
• Assist with financial systems, reporting and process improvement initiatives
• Gain exposure to automation, data warehousing and emerging finance technologies
• Work collaboratively with the broader Finance team on business improvement projects

Ideal candidate

• Recently completed or currently undertaking a Commerce, Business or Finance degree with a major in Accounting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong excel skills
• Energetic and positive attitude
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• An interest in finance systems, technology and process improvement
