About the role
Apoyo Health Services is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Book Keeper to join our finance team on a part-time basis. This position is based in Hobart, TAS 7000 and offers a flexible working arrangement that allows you to balance professional responsibilities with personal commitments. As Book Keeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation, ensuring accurate records and supporting informed decision-making across the business.
What you'll be doing
Recording and reconciling daily financial transactions across all accounts
Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment scheduling
Performing bank reconciliations and identifying discrepancies for resolution
Preparing and maintaining general ledger entries and supporting documentation
Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and trial balances
Processing payroll records and ensuring compliance with relevant payroll requirements
Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems in accordance with organisational policies
Supporting the preparation of management accounts and financial reports
Liaising with external auditors and providing necessary documentation during audit processes
Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures
What we're looking for
Formal qualifications in bookkeeping, accounting or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Proficiency in bookkeeping software and accounting systems, with competency in Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, generally accepted accounting practices and relevant tax regulations
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with numerical data
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Clear communication abilities and the capacity to work collaboratively with finance and operational teams
Experience in NDIS providers, healthcare, not-for-profit or community services accounting is advantageous but not essential
Knowledge of MYOB, Xero or similar cloud-based accounting platforms is desirable
