Position Summary:

Lead daily engineering and maintenance operations across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.

Coordinate preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and operational excellence.

Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot facility issues in a timely and professional manner.

Inspect and maintain critical building systems, including fire pumps, generators, alarms, and sprinkler systems.

Monitor inventory levels and support procurement of engineering parts, tools, and supplies.

Ensure engineering operations comply with applicable Australian Standards, local regulations, and company policies.

Supervise engineering projects from planning through completion, ensuring quality outcomes, budget control, and compliance with safety standards.

Assist with staff training, scheduling, coaching, and day-to-day supervision of the engineering team.

Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and workplace regulations.

Support emergency response planning and maintain readiness of safety systems across the property.

Identify and implement initiatives to improve efficiency, reliability, quality, and cost performance.

About You:

Technical proficiency in Electrical, HVAC&R, and Plumbing systems.

Good knowledge of building maintenance practices, including routine inspections, troubleshooting, and coordinating repairs.

Experience working as an engineer technician, preferably in the hospitality industry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and building management or maintenance software (BMS/CMMS).

Strong problem-solving skills to identify maintenance issues and coordinate timely solutions.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, workload, and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills and a respectful attitude to foster a positive, collaborative team culture.

Hands-on maintenance experience with practical technical skills across multiple building systems.
