EGS is a growing Tasmanian-owned business providing electrical, plumbing, heating and solar solutions to homes and businesses across the state. We are looking for an Accounts & Administration Officer to join our team!
About the role
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems and keeping things organised. You will be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable & payroll whilst also supporting the wider team with general office administration as required.
Key responsibilities
Reconcile customer accounts and payments daily
Investigate account discrepancies
Process and bank cash payments
Maintain accurate customer account records
Process supplier and contractor invoices
Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation
Investigate discrepancies with suppliers and contractors
Prepare and process payment runs
Ensure invoices are entered and paid accurately and on time
Follow a clear and consistent debt-recovery process
About you
Previous experience in an accounts, bookkeeping or finance administration role
Experience using Xero
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Excellent organisation and time-management skills
Confidence following up overdue accounts professionally and respectfully
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to investigate discrepancies and solve problems
A proactive approach and willingness to assist wherever needed
A friendly, positive and team-focused attitude
The ability to maintain confidentiality
