Woods & Co Recruitment is excited to be recruiting for an Assistant Venue Manager for a dynamic and multifaceted hospitality venue. This role is perfect for experienced leaders who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about delivering exceptional service across a large-scale operation that includes casual dining, bars, functions and events.
What’s in it for you?
- Salary between $90,000–$100,000 + super + generous KPI bonus
- Full-time, permanent role with maximum 40 hours per week. No overtime given
- Most evenings finishing around 10–11pm, with Friday trade until 1am
- Two-week Christmas shutdown and annual salary review
- 1/2 weekends off every month

What you’ll do:
- Oversee the day-to-day floor operations across dining, bar, functions and events. Acting as the senior leader on shift when the Operations Manager is not present
- Manage service standards and ensure seamless operation across all areas of the venue
- Collaborate with the Bar Manager, kitchen, and functions teams to deliver cohesive guest experiences
- Lead and develop a large team, including recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management
- Manage staffing rosters and labour requirements to suit trade demands
- Set, monitor and drive team KPIs, providing coaching and accountability
- Monitor wages, COGS and other operational metrics to meet financial targets
- Work alongside the Operations Manager to improve efficiency, profitability, and overall venue performance
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience managing a busy hospitality floor with operational ownership
- Strong understanding of rostering, recruitment, training, P&L, and KPI management
- Commercially minded with a focus on service quality and guest experience
- Hands-on leadership style, comfortable leading from the floor and motivating a large team
- Excellent communication, organisation, and team development skills
