About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Officer / Contracts Manager to support a major Defence capability program based in Sydney. Working within a complex stakeholder environment, you will play a key role in procurement, contract administration, financial management and commercial governance activities, helping ensure the successful delivery of program objectives.

12 month contract

Sydney / Garden Island

NV1 Security Clearance (minimum) is essential

Key Responsibilities

Support the planning, execution and management of procurement activities

Develop and maintain commercial documentation, frameworks and plans

Manage contract deliverables, performance obligations and commercial compliance

Conduct financial forecasting, accruals and budget management activities

Raise and manage purchase orders and process invoices

Undertake commercial assurance activities including audits, cost reviews and compliance assessments

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Provide commercial advice and support across program activities

Contribute to lessons learned activities and continuous improvement initiatives

Assist with broader commercial and contract management activities as required

About You

Experience in commercial, procurement, contract management or project support roles

Strong understanding of procurement and contracting processes

Experience managing budgets, forecasts, purchase orders and financial reporting

Ability to interpret contractual requirements and ensure compliance obligations are met

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced project environment

Previous experience within Defence, Federal Government or a highly regulated environment will be highly regarded

NV1 Security Clearance (or higher)
