Our client is a well-established, family-owned Tasmanian business specialising in the transportation of fresh produce from Tasmania to Melbourne. With a strong focus on reliable service, efficient transport and customer satisfaction, they are looking for a Fleet Allocator to join their team, based at their Laverton North site.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys planning, problem-solving and working closely with drivers and customers to keep daily transport operations running smoothly.

About the Role

As the Fleet Allocator, you'll be at the heart of the daily operation, ensuring the right drivers, vehicles and routes are allocated to get deliveries where they need to be — efficiently and on time.

Planning and allocating daily local delivery runs

Developing efficient routes to maximise fleet utilisation and minimise unnecessary travel

Allocating drivers and vehicles based on delivery requirements

Preparing and managing driver run sheets

Coordinating with drivers throughout the day and keeping them informed of any changes

Liaising directly with customers and managing delivery requirements and enquiries

Monitoring deliveries and proactively resolving issues as they arise

Ensuring driver, vehicle and transport compliance requirements are maintained

Maintaining accurate transport, delivery and operational records

Working closely with drivers to ensure runs are completed safely and efficiently

Managing changing priorities in a time-sensitive transport environment

Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, service and fleet utilisation

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates confidently and genuinely enjoys making logistics work.

You'll bring:

Previous experience in fleet allocation, transport coordination, logistics, dispatch or a similar role

Strong attention to detail — you'll be juggling multiple drivers, deliveries and timeframes

Excellent planning and organisational skills

Strong communication skills and the confidence to deal with drivers and customers

A customer-focused approach

The ability to think quickly and problem-solve when plans change

An understanding of driver, vehicle and transport compliance

The ability to work independently while being part of a close-knit team

Good computer and administration skills

A calm and solutions-focused approach, particularly when things get busy

Experience in fresh produce, refrigerated transport or local delivery operations will be highly regarded.

Based at Laverton North

Tuesday – Saturday roster

Tuesday – Friday: 9:00am – 6:00pm

Saturday: 5:00am – 1:00pm
