About the Role

Clarity Partners is looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join an ASX-listed, diversified mining services group with a strong presence across Australia.

Working as part of an established Payroll, HR and Finance team, you’ll take ownership of end-to-end fortnightly payroll across a diverse Australian workforce, ensuring employees are paid accurately, compliantly and on time. This is an opportunity to work in a complex payroll environment while contributing to process improvements and broader business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end fortnightly payroll across a complex Australian workforce.
  • Review and validate payroll inputs, including wages, allowances, deductions, leave and adjustments.
  • Interpret and apply Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards and employment conditions.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and complex payroll queries.
  • Complete payroll reconciliations, journals and reporting, including alignment with the general ledger.
  • Ensure compliance with taxation, superannuation, payroll tax and Single Touch Payroll requirements.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, managers and employees on payroll-related matters.
  • Contribute to payroll process improvements, system enhancements and compliance initiatives.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end payroll in a large or complex organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance.
  • Experience interpreting Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards and complex pay conditions.
  • High-volume payroll processing and reconciliation experience.
  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups and PivotTables.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with Pronto or another large ERP/payroll system will be highly regarded.
  • Mining, resources, heavy industry or services experience is advantageous.
