About the Role

We are recruiting an Internal Communications Specialist. The successful candidate will support internal communications, employee engagement and organisational initiatives by developing clear, engaging and visually appealing content for employees.

This is a hands-on role that combines HR communications, content development, visual communication and stakeholder coordination. The candidate should be comfortable working closely with HR, management and different operational departments to understand their requirements and translate information into communications that employees can easily understand.

The role is best suited to someone who has been trained in Human Resources or has practical HR experience, particularly in areas such as employee engagement, internal communications, learning and development, organisational culture or change communications.

This is not a marketing, graphic design or external social media role. A strong understanding of employees, workplace communication and HR-related considerations is important.

Gather employee feedback and recommend improvements to communication content and channels.

HR and Organisational Communications

Support communications relating to HR programmes, policies, employee activities, learning initiatives and organisational changes.

Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure sensitive or employee-related information is communicated clearly and appropriately.

Prepare FAQs, guides, presentation materials and employee information packs.

Support onboarding, training, employee education and other HR-led communication initiatives.

Ensure communications take employee experience and potential employee concerns into consideration.

Content and Visual Development

Design electronic direct mailers, presentations, posters, infographics and other internal communication materials.

Develop visually engaging content using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar platforms.

Create simple graphics, short-form videos and digital content to improve employee engagement.

Ensure that all visual materials are consistent with the organisation’s branding guidelines.

Convert lengthy or complex information into easy-to-read formats.

Digital Communication Channels

Manage or support internal communication channels such as email, SharePoint, intranet platforms, Microsoft Teams, Viva Engage or similar tools.

Maintain an internal content and communications calendar.

Schedule and coordinate internal communication releases.

Organise and update communication materials on the organisation’s digital platforms.

Monitor engagement and recommend improvements to content formats and delivery methods.

Stakeholder and Project Coordination

Work closely with HR, management, department heads and operational teams to gather information and understand communication requirements.

Engage internal subject-matter experts to clarify technical or operational content.

Coordinate content reviews, approvals and revisions with multiple stakeholders.

Manage several communication assignments concurrently while meeting deadlines.

Follow up with stakeholders to ensure that information is complete, accurate and approved before publication.

Take ownership of assignments from initial briefing through drafting, design, review and final release.
