This is a hands-on role that supports the delivery of community projects, programs and initiatives that respond to local needs and enhance community wellbeing. The successful candidate will contribute to project delivery, community engagement, stakeholder partnerships and the provision of information to individuals, community groups, service providers and older people to support informed decision-making and access to available services.

The role requires a sound understanding of the community services sector, particularly issues affecting older people and people with disability, along with strong communication, organisational and relationship-building skills. Experience working collaboratively with community organisations and service providers will be highly regarded.

About the role:
  • Support the delivery of community projects, programs, consultation, engagement and sector development initiatives that respond to local community needs.
  • Provide information and referrals to older people, new retirees, community groups and service providers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organisations and key stakeholders, including facilitating meetings, forums and community engagement activities.
  • Assist with program planning, implementation, reporting and evaluation.
  • Demonstrate initiative, strategic thinking and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Apply strong communication and organisational skills in a dynamic community setting.

  • a base salary ranging from $35.36 per hour with competency-based increments up to $40.52 per hour, plus 12% super

We are seeking:
  • Experience working with older people and/or people with disability in a community setting, supported by a Certificate III in Aged Care, Community Care or a related qualification.
  • A confident communicator who can build relationships, share information and engage effectively with a range of community members and groups.
  • Someone who enjoys working with volunteers and supporting community activities, programs and committees.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in using computers and technology, along with a current driver's licence and the ability to work across the community.

This position is based in Tweed Heads and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
