Mechanical Fitter – Equipment Assembly
Location: Sunshine West, VIC
Contract: 26 weeks, with potential for permanent employment
Pay: $55.00 per hour + Super
Travel Allowance: $27.00 per day
Shift: Day shift

About the Role TRS Resourcing is seeking a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitters to join our client’s day-shift workshop team in Sunshine West.
You will perform the final mechanical assembly, installation and commissioning of specialised commercial equipment.
This position would suit a fitter who takes pride in producing high-quality finished products and is confident working from engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Install pneumatic air lines and mechanical components
- Complete the final assembly of specialised equipment
- Assist with testing and commissioning completed systems
- Read and interpret workshop and engineering drawings
- Perform mechanical fitting, alignment and installation work to specification
- Undertake basic welding and fabrication when required
- Ensure completed work meets Australian Standards, safety procedures and quality requirements
- Work independently and as part of the workshop team to meet production deadlines
What You’ll Need
- Australian-recognised trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or Engineering – Mechanical Trade
- Experience in mechanical assembly, installation or equipment manufacturing
- Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
- Confidence installing pneumatic lines and mechanical components
- Basic welding and fabrication skills
- Your own set of hand tools; specialised tools will be provided
- Current Australian working rights
- Current residence in Melbourne, Victoria
- Two professional references from previous employers
Experience with pumps, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems or specialised equipment will be highly regarded but is not essential.
Pay and Benefits
- $55.00 per hour plus superannuation
- $27.00 daily travel allowance
