Position: Senior Power Systems Engineer
Salary: $170,000–$190,000 + Super

Design & Build has partnered with a national multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with an established presence across Australia.

The business works across energy and infrastructure, bringing together specialists across multiple engineering disciplines. You’ll join their dedicated Power Systems & Grid team, working across transmission, renewables, data centre and major infrastructure projects.

This opportunity is ideal for a technically focused Power Systems Engineer who enjoys complex studies, solving challenging network issues and working collaboratively across multidisciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver power system studies across transmission, generation and renewable energy projects
• Prepare GPS packages and support projects through the grid connection process
• Undertake network modelling and technical assessments
• Solve complex power system and network issues
• Prepare technical reports and engineering deliverables
• Work closely with clients, NSPs and other project stakeholders
• Collaborate with engineering specialists across multiple disciplines
• Support and mentor junior engineers where required

Minimum Experience Required

• Experience in power system analysis and grid connection studies
• Strong capability using tools such as PSS®E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory and/or PSS®SINCAL
• Experience across transmission, distribution, renewable energy or major infrastructure projects
• Understanding of the Australian NEM and grid connection process
• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong technical communication and report writing skills
