Coonamble Shire Council is seeking a Manager Utilities – Water & Sewer based in Coonamble, NSW
About the role
Lead Coonamble Shire Council’s water and sewer operations, managing a small team, plant operations, compliance, maintenance planning and asset improvements across essential regional infrastructure.
What you'll Lead
Lead the Water and Sewer team day to day
Manage water and sewer services, plant ops and service reliability
Plan maintenance, servicing and capital improvement works
Oversee water quality, health, safety and environmental compliance
Build systems, manuals, reports, budgets and asset plans
Manage contractors, risk, WHS and community service outcomes
Skills & Experience
Qualifications in Water and Sewer, Engineering or a related field
Experience in water, sewer, utilities, infrastructure or regulated operations
Strong people leadership, planning and budget management skills
Knowledge of WHS, compliance, water quality and plant operations
Class P, P2 or C Licence, White Card and Australian working rights
Benefits
Salary from $98,566.00 - $114,102.45 + Super with anticipated 4% Local Government (State) Award increase from 1 July 2026 to $102,507.60 - $118,665.40 + Super
9-day fortnight plus four weeks’ annual leave
Relocation support up to $10k
Housing allowance or subsidised Council housing
Leaseback vehicle with private use
Overtime/time in lieu and applicable allowances
Civil liability, uniform and overtime allowances where eligible
Professional development, training and paid industry membership
EAP, hi-vis, safety workwear and PPE provided
