About the role

We are seeking a Finance Executive to join MECADO TRADING PTE LTD in a full-time capacity, based in the Downtown Core Central Region. This is a pivotal position within our financial accounting and reporting function, where you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness and compliance of our financial records and reporting processes. As Finance Executive, you will be responsible for supporting the finance team in delivering high-quality financial accounting services that drive informed business decision-making across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

Preparing, reviewing and reconciling monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards

Recording, classifying and reconciling financial transactions across the general ledger

Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment authorisation and collection activities

Performing period-end closing procedures, including accruals, prepayments and journal entry adjustments

Assisting with internal and external audit activities, including preparation of supporting documentation and schedules

Maintaining and updating accounting policies, procedures and controls to ensure financial data integrity

Identifying and investigating variances in financial reports and resolving discrepancies

Preparing management accounts and financial analysis to support business reporting requirements

Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial governance standards

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with relevant professional accounting certification (e.g. CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent) preferred

2-4 years of experience in financial accounting, reporting or a similar finance role within a commercial organisation

Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting systems, with strong capability in spreadsheet applications

Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statement preparation and period-end closing procedures

Demonstrated experience in reconciliation processes, transaction recording and journal entry preparation

Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous process improvement
