ESS provides multi-service capability to major companies and organisations operating in remote sites, gold mines and coal fields. We provide vital workplace support for people working in some of the most isolated terrains in the world, from oil rigs in the North Sea to gold mines in the Australian Outback.
Due to unprecedented growth across the east coast remote sector we are looking an experienced Catering Manager to take us into our next growth phase at Harmony Gold – Eva Copper, providing hospitality services for approximately 400-1200 residents. Eva Copper is located 75km north of Cloncurry and is poised to become the largest Copper Mine in NW Queensland.
Working with well-regarded clients, the successful candidate will do a 14/7 roster working 12 hour days and will be fly-in, fly-out ex Townsville or Brisbane, with flights, accommodation and meals included.
The Role
- Management of village catering operations
- Maintain consistent operational performance across quality, cost, and people capability
- Drive team performance and accountability
- Ensure delivery of high-quality food and service standards
- Monitor and control operational costs
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across catering operations
- Drive regular and sustainable improvement in safety performance
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture
- Foster a high-performance team environment
- Encourage innovation and operational efficiency improvements
The Person
- Experience in bulk or large-scale culinary environments
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders
- Ability to meet deadlines with competing priorities
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Experience developing budgets and managing costs
- Ability to allocate resources effectively to maintain profitability
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Ability to build, lead, and engage high-performing teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Solid understanding of Queensland mining safety regulations
