About the role
Formulate strategies for space management, infrastructure planning, project development and management to achieve optimal and sustainable facility design. Translate users' requirements into design briefs and technical specifications and establish project budgets for procurement of consultancy services and construction contracts.
Key responsibilities
Review and evaluate technical specifications to ensure appropriate engineering solutions and technologies are implemented at reasonable cost
Oversee construction timelines to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget and according to required quality standards
Manage project meetings involving users, consultants, contractors and project teams to ensure effective execution of project milestones
Establish facilities maintenance requirements and maintenance programmes with consideration for sustainability and cost effectiveness
Lead green practices and promote sustainability in building and facilities operations and maintenance
Implement and review maintenance engineering initiatives to improve reliability, maintainability and serviceability
Establish and administer facilities management and maintenance contracts covering ACMV / M&E services, Building Management Systems (BMS), Security Access Control, Cleaning & Pest Control, Landscaping, Lifts, and General Building Services
Liaise and coordinate with facilities personnel managing laboratories, cleanrooms, Gas & Chemical systems and Total Water Management Systems
Engage internal stakeholders and external parties including landlords, contractors and suppliers to support effective facilities operations
About you
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in project development and/or facilities management within a research and/or industrial facility
Technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural Engineering or related engineering disciplines would be advantageous
Self-driven and meticulous with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Good time management skills and ability to deliver results within tight timelines
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Good organizational and stakeholder management skills
Confident in communicating across different levels of stakeholders
Able to think creatively and apply strategic thinking to assigned tasks
