About the role

TRu Brands is seeking a commercially focused and relationship-driven Category Specialist – Apparel to support the continued growth of the TRu Workwear and BOOL PT brands. Reporting to the Head of Apparel, this field-focused role is responsible for identifying, influencing and developing new business opportunities across targeted end users and selected distributor partners. You will work closely with Category Managers, Business Development Managers, Marketing and Customer Service to build market awareness, support product adoption and generate qualified sales opportunities. This is an opportunity for someone who understands workwear, PPE, industrial apparel or related markets and enjoys combining business development, product expertise, customer engagement and training.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new end-user opportunities across targeted industries and regions
  • Build relationships with decision-makers, procurement teams, safety managers and operational stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain a target list of prospective end-user accounts
  • Engage contracted end users to help identify upcoming tenders and supply opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with selected distributor partners
  • Conduct joint customer calls with distributors and Business Development Managers where appropriate
  • Support distributor teams with product recommendations, sizing advice and range selection
  • Deliver product presentations and training sessions to end users and distributor teams
  • Assist with product trials, wearer programs, evaluations and new product launches
  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing, product ranges and market trends

About you

  • Experience in workwear, PPE, industrial apparel, safety products or a related industry
  • Proven ability to identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
  • Confidence delivering product presentations, demonstrations and training
  • Sound commercial awareness and an understanding of distributor-based sales channels
  • Strong organisational, planning and time-management skills
  • Experience using CRM and reporting platforms
  • The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with internal teams
  • A willingness to travel regularly within assigned territories
