About the role

The Assistant Compensation & Benefits Manager will lead the day-to-day execution of payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and core HR operations. This role is highly operational and requires a hands-on professional who can audit existing data, troubleshoot system challenges, and maintain absolute accuracy. As a key member of the HR team, this position offers a structured career progression pathway toward leadership for a high-performing individual who demonstrates strong ownership, analytical skills, and process improvement.

Key responsibilities

End-to-end execution, processing, and reconciliation of monthly payroll and reporting

Utilize SAP modules to manage employee data, wage calculations, deductions, and tax filings

Act as the department's technical lead to deep-dive into SAP system challenges, troubleshoot errors, and optimize system workflows

Conduct rigorous pre-payroll audits to eliminate recurring calculation errors and ensure zero discrepancies in pay and leave balances

Manage, calculate, and submit all statutory and government-reimbursed claims (e.g., government-paid parental leave, childcare leave, NS claims, and training grants)

Ensure full compliance with local employment laws, statutory boards, and ministry guidelines

End-to-end management of foreign employee work passes (including applications, renewals, cancellations, and appeals) through relevant government portals

Track work visa expiry dates proactively to ensure zero business disruption or compliance risks

Manage the annual renewal, administration, and enrollment processes for all corporate insurance policies (e.g., Group Medical and Work Injury Compensation)

Own and audit the employee master database, ensuring all new hires, terminations, transfers, and leave balances are updated in real-time

About you

5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in payroll operations, compensation, and benefits administration

Highly competent and advanced in the SAP Payroll module

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data manipulation) for complex data auditing

Deep understanding of local labor laws, statutory regulations, tax frameworks, and work visa processing frameworks

Exceptional problem-solving skills with a natural curiosity to deep-dive into root causes

High emotional intelligence, strong communication skills, and an eager, service-oriented mindset when dealing with stakeholders
