Are you a senior mechanic ready to step into a leadership role?

Paul Whyte Automotive is looking for a hands-on Workshop Foreman / 2IC to join our high-performing team on a full-time basis at our well-established workshop in Gungahlin, ACT.

In this role, you will lead the workshop floor and keep operations running smoothly. You will split your time between diagnosing and repairing vehicles, mentoring staff, and stepping up to the front counter to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

What You Will Do

Manage Workshop Flow: Coordinate directly with technicians to guarantee jobs are completed on time.

Hands-on Mechanical Work: Service, repair, diagnose, and maintain a diverse range of passenger and light commercial vehicles.

Mentor Staff: Support junior technicians and apprentices to build their skills and technical confidence.

Front Counter Coverage: Greet customers, book services, handle invoicing, and translate technical issues into clear language.

Quoting & Parts Sourcing: Source parts from our trusted supplier network and deliver accurate quotes directly to clients.

Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure all vehicle history logs and workshop paperwork are completely up to date.

What We Are Looking For

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Workshop Foreman, Service Advisor, or senior hands-on mechanic.

Qualifications: Formal mechanical trade qualifications are highly valued.

Communication: Excellent verbal skills with a genuine ability to explain mechanical issues to everyday vehicle owners.

Organisational Skills: Strong time management, computer literacy, and the capacity to multitask under pressure.

Licences & Rights: A current, valid full Australian driver's licence and full, unrestricted Australian working rights.
