Salary/Level: Level 1, $68,028 - $77,574 p.a. pro rata plus District Allowance plus 12% Superannuation
Tenure: Permanent, Part-time (0.6 FTE)
Location: Esperance, Western Australia
The South Coast Region extends 1,200 km from Denmark to the South Australian border and includes 14 national parks and 150 nature reserves covering 2.5 million hectares plus 7 million hectares of unallocated Crown land (UCL). National parks include Torndirrup, Porongurup, Stirling Range, Fitzgerald River, West Cape Howe, Gull Rock, Waychinicup, Stokes, Cape Le Grand, and Cape Arid.
The South Coast Region’s key service deliverables include nature conservation, parks and visitor services and fire management.
We currently have an opportunity for a part-time Clerical Officer to join our team.
Under the direct supervision of the Finance and Administration Coordinator, this position:
- Provides general administration and clerical support to district staff and secretarial support as required.
- Provides front counter and telephone reception services for the district office.
The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.

Selection Criteria
- Experience in dealing with internal and external enquiries with a customer service focus.
- Knowledge of the use of office equipment, office procedures and administration, including demonstrated competency in the use of computer databases, spreadsheets and word processing software.
- Ability to undertake records management and general clerical duties, including the processing of financial documents.
- Good oral and written communication and organisational skills, and an ability to analyse and suggest solutions to basic problems.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
- Understanding of work, health and safety, and equity and diversity principles and practices.
- Knowledge of departmental functions, activities and the Financial Management Act 2006. (Desirable)
- Experience using a corporate records management system. (Desirable)
- Ongoing willingness and ability to participate in fire management activities that contribute to bushfire suppression and prescribed burning operations commensurate with capability, capacity, training and level of experience. (Desirable)
