Systems & Network Engineer

At KMTech, we don't just deliver IT solutions - we build genuine partnerships.

We're changing the game in managed services by being the human face of technology. Our clients trust us because we combine technical excellence with exceptional service, and we're looking for an experienced Systems & Network Engineer to join our growing team.

If you're someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, designing secure modern environments and working with a team that genuinely supports one another, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Systems & Network Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, implementing and supporting enterprise network infrastructure across a diverse client base. While you'll have exposure to Microsoft technologies, this role is primarily focused on networking, security and connectivity, with Fortinet forming a key part of our technology stack.

You'll work across project delivery and technical escalations, helping clients modernise their environments while ensuring their networks remain secure, reliable and high performing.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and working with modern networking and security technologies.

What You'll Be Doing

Design, deploy and support secure network infrastructure

Configure, manage and support Fortinet firewall environments and FortiManager

Implement and support LAN, WAN, VPN, SD-WAN and wireless networking solutions

Work with modern security technologies including ZTNA and SASE

Configure and maintain Meraki network environments

Assist clients with Microsoft Modern Workplace technologies

Configure and administer Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory

Participate in infrastructure projects including migrations and upgrades

Troubleshoot complex networking, security and infrastructure issues

Produce clear technical documentation

Work collaboratively with our Service Desk and Professional Services teams

Build trusted relationships with clients through outstanding service

About You

You'll be an experienced Network or Systems Engineer who enjoys technical delivery, solving complex problems and helping clients succeed.

Fortinet experience is essential for this role. We're looking for someone who has genuine hands-on experience working with Fortinet environments rather than limited exposure to individual Fortinet products.

You'll ideally have:

Essential

Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet technologies

Experience with FortiManager

Strong understanding of firewalls, routing, switching and network security

Experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise network infrastructure

Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, VPN, SD-WAN and wireless networking

Experience with modern security concepts such as ZTNA and/or SASE

Experience with Meraki

Strong troubleshooting and network diagnostics skills

Experience working across multiple client environments (MSP experience highly regarded)

Excellent communication and client relationship skills

Current Australian Driver's Licence

Highly Regarded

Experience with one or more of the following would be highly regarded:

Cisco

Aruba

Palo Alto

Cisco ISE

Aruba ClearPass or other NAC solutions

Zero Trust networking principles

Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory

Microsoft 365 and Azure

Infrastructure project delivery and migrations

CCNP or other networking/security certifications

You don't need to be an expert across every technology listed above. We're more interested in strong Fortinet capability, solid networking fundamentals and the ability to work confidently across a broader technology environment.
