A role where your impact is visible.
The technology has been selected.
The budget has been approved.
Implementation has already begun.
The next phase requires someone who knows how to turn a partially implemented Data Loss Prevention program into something the organisation can confidently rely on.
You'll inherit strong foundations, executive support and a clear mandate.
Opportunities to join a program at this stage of maturity are uncommon.
Your focus will be helping complete, optimise and operationalise the environment while ensuring controls remain practical, effective and aligned to business needs.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to take ownership of a significant piece of work, solve complex information protection challenges and leave behind something that will continue delivering value long after the engagement concludes.
Why this role exists
As part of a broader cyber security maturity program, the organisation has invested in a significant Data Loss Prevention initiative focused on improving the visibility, governance and protection of sensitive information.
Foundational work has already been completed and implementation is underway.
The organisation is now seeking an experienced specialist to help complete, optimise and operationalise the environment.
This is not a role for someone operating at a distance from delivery.
The organisation is looking for someone who has successfully delivered this type of work before.
About the role
Reporting directly to the CIO and working closely with cyber security and technology stakeholders, you will play a leading role in the next phase of the organisation's DLP program.
This is not a project management role. It is a hands-on technical role focused on helping the organisation mature and embed its DLP capability.
Varonis and Microsoft Purview form the foundation of the environment.
You will:
- Optimise and refine DLP controls across the environment
- Work across Varonis, Microsoft Purview and related technologies
- Support data discovery, classification and information protection initiatives
- Develop policies, sensitivity labels and governance controls
- Help establish an environment that can be confidently supported and continuously improved
The role will suit someone who enjoys practical implementation work, solving complex information protection challenges and delivering measurable outcomes.
The environment
The environment is centred around Varonis and Microsoft Purview, supported by Microsoft 365, CrowdStrike and a range of collaboration and data repositories.
The organisation is focused on improving visibility, classification, governance and protection of sensitive information while ensuring controls remain aligned to operational requirements.
What you'll bring
- Strong experience implementing and operationalising Data Loss Prevention capabilities
- Strong exposure to Varonis and/or Microsoft Purview environments
- Experience working with sensitive information in regulated environments
- Strong technical judgement and practical problem-solving capability
- Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Working model & benefits
- Sydney-based organisation
- Fully remote working arrangement (Australia-based candidates welcome)
- $190,000–$210,000 + superannuation
- Attractive not-for-profit salary packaging benefits
- 12-month fixed-term contract
- Direct access to the CIO and cyber security leadership team
- Potential for longer-term opportunities as organisational needs evolve
