ABOUT THE POSITION:

As Head, Production Studios, you will lead Museums Victoria's multidisciplinary production teams responsible for exhibition production, digital video production, photography and imaging, large format printing, exhibition fabrication, gallery operations and maintenance. Reporting to the Director, Exhibitions & Experiences, you will ensure production services supporting exhibitions, digital platforms, education and public programs, publishing, marketing and promotional outputs are delivered on time, within budget and to an exceptional standard of quality. Working across multiple venues and projects, you will provide strategic leadership, foster innovation and collaboration, and contribute to the delivery of engaging physical and digital visitor experiences that support Museums Victoria's vision and strategic objectives.

Some of the key duties include:

Oversee the work of the Exhibition Production team, ensuring the safe and effective planning, coordination, delivery and installation of high-quality exhibition builds, fit-outs and interactive experiences.

Oversee the work of the Digital Content Studio and Photography & Imaging team, ensuring the provision of image and video production, digital content and large format printing services that support Museums Victoria's onsite and online experiences.

Oversee the work of the Gallery Operations team, ensuring permanent galleries, temporary exhibition spaces and public-facing installations are maintained to a consistently high standard.

The successful applicant will have:

Extensive experience in the initiation, development, production and delivery of major physical, digital and online visitor experiences, preferably within a museum or cultural institution environment.

Demonstrated experience leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams engaged in exhibition production, digital content creation, photography and imaging, graphic production, fabrication, installation and operations.

Proven expertise across all stages of visitor experience development, including project initiation, design, scoping, prototyping, production, procurement, contract management and operational delivery.

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a Full time, ongoing position. The salary on offer is a VPS6.1 Base salary of $142,790 per annum (pro rata) plus 12% superannuation.
