Practice Manager
Progress Accounting Pty Ltd
Posted 1 day ago
At Progress Accounting, we’re a close-knit, growing team passionate about helping our clients achieve their goals. We’re a collaborative team that values great service, accountability, and continually finding better ways to work.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Practice Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day rhythm of the firm and help our team work at their best.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys bringing structure to a busy environment, improving the way things are done and making sure nothing important falls through the cracks.
You’ll keep an eye on workflow and deadlines, make sure our processes are followed, support our administration team, and identify opportunities to make the business more efficient.
This isn’t a role where you simply maintain existing processes. We want someone who will understand how the firm operates, notice when something could work better, and take the initiative to improve it.
With the current Practice Manager preparing to take maternity leave, this is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive team and play an important role in the continued success of the business. This is a genuine long-term opportunity, offering the chance to grow and develop within the business. Upon her return, the existing Practice Manager will transition into a role focused on supporting the Director, creating the opportunity for the successful candidate to continue to take ownership of the Practice Manager position.
The Role
As our Practice Manager, you’ll be at the centre of the day-to-day operation of the firm.
Working closely with our accounting and administration teams, you’ll keep an eye on workflow and deadlines, identify opportunities to make the practice more efficient; while delivering an exceptional experience for our clients and team.
What you will manage
Workflow - keep visibility across jobs, priorities and key deadlines, identify bottlenecks early and help keep work moving.
Administration - oversee the day-to-day administrative functions of the firm and make sure the details are taken care of.
Client onboarding & experience -coordinate onboarding, AML/CTF checks and reporting evidence, documentation and client administration to create a professional and consistent experience from day one.
ASIC & compliance administration - manage ASIC requirements, corporate compliance records and associated deadlines and documentation.
Systems & processes - take ownership of how our internal processes work, identify inefficiencies, and implement practical improvements.
Reporting & records - maintain accurate practice records, trackers and reporting so the team has clear, reliable information when they need it.
Administration team - support, coordinate and mentor our administration team, helping establish clear responsibilities, priorities and expectations.
Continuous improvement - notice what isn’t working, ask why, and take ownership of finding a better way.
About You
You’re an organised, proactive professional who enjoys making things run well. You notice what needs attention, work out the next step, and follow it through.
You’re confident working autonomously, managing competing priorities, and supporting a small team. You also understand that good practice management isn’t just about solving problems; it’s about creating the systems and processes that prevent them.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
Previous experience in practice management, office management or senior administration, ideally within accounting or professional services
Strong organisational and workflow management skills
Experience coordinating and supporting an administration team
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Experience with client onboarding, ASIC administration and compliance processes
Confidence working across practice management and accounting software
A practical, solutions-focused approach to improving systems and processes
Above all, we’re looking for someone who takes ownership, someone who sees what needs attention and follows it through.
How to apply: Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your suitability for the role to Jess at ••••@progressaccounting.au.
Applications close Monday 31 August 2026 at 5pm.
