About the role

We are seeking a Front of House team member to join The Verdict Coffee in Gunnedah, NSW. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst being part of a dynamic hospitality team. As Front of House, you will be the face of our café, creating memorable experiences for our customers and ensuring smooth operations in our welcoming space. This role is essential to delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the warm, inviting atmosphere that defines The Verdict Coffee.

What you'll be doing

Greeting customers with a warm welcome and seating them in our café

Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently

Serving food and beverages to customers with attention to detail and care

Managing table turnover and maintaining cleanliness of the dining area

Processing payments and handling cash or card transactions

Responding to customer enquiries and resolving any concerns with professionalism

Communicating effectively with kitchen and baristas to ensure seamless service

Maintaining knowledge of menu items and making recommendations when appropriate

Supporting general café operations as required, including restocking and tidying

What we're looking for

Experience in a waiting staff or front of house role within the hospitality industry

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for customer service

Ability to remain calm and courteous during busy periods

Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities

Physical fitness for the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods

Reliability and a positive, professional attitude

Flexibility to work casual shifts including weekends

Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards is desirable
