Join Queensland Treasury's Queensland Government Insurance Fund (QGIF) in a senior leadership role where you will manage complex claims and lead a team delivering critical outcomes for government. This role offers the opportunity to influence whole-of-government risk management while applying technical expertise across personal injury, medical negligence and liability claims.
In this role, you will:
• Lead and manage a team of claims officers to deliver efficient, high-quality outcomes
• Provide complex technical and strategic advice on claims matters to senior stakeholders
• Manage claims from initial assessment through to settlement using best practice approaches
• Develop and implement claims management policies, systems and continuous improvement initiatives
• Oversee external service providers including legal panel firms and specialists
• Monitor performance, manage risk, and deliver reporting and insights
• Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across government and externally
• Contribute to organisational priorities and claims strategy within QGIF
What experience you will bring:
• Experience managing claims under the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002 or similar
• Strong understanding of liability, causation principles and relevant case law
• Ability to assess quantum in personal injury claims, including Civil Liability Act 2003
• Experience managing external legal and investigative service providers
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
• Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
