Southwest Earthworks is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to oversee our day-to-day operations and help drive the continued performance of our business.

We are an established earthworks contractor operating in the South West of Western Australia, providing civil earthworks, plant and equipment services, transport, and mining support services.

This is a hands-on management positionsuited to someone who understands earthmoving, mining support operations, knows how to manage people and machinery, and can keep multiple jobs running safely, efficiently and profitably

THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Directors, the Operations Manager will be responsible for coordinating our workforce, plant, projects and daily operational requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Managing and coordinating daily earthworks operations

· Scheduling operators, employees, plant and equipment

· Liaising with clients, supervisors and site representatives

· Planning upcoming works and allocating resources

· Ensuring jobs are properly staffed and equipped

· Monitoring job progress, productivity and performance

· Managing mobilisation and demobilisation of plant and personnel

· Coordinating plant servicing, maintenance and repairs

· Ensuring pre-starts, SWMS, JHAs and other site documentation are completed

· Maintaining high safety and compliance standards

· Managing employee performance and workplace expectations

· Assisting with recruitment and workforce planning

· Monitoring job costs, hours and equipment utilisation

· Identifying operational issues and resolving them promptly

· Supporting the Director with the overall management and growth of Southwest Earthworks

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who:

· Has strong experience in earthworks, civil construction, mining support operations

· Has previous supervisory, project management or operations management experience

· Has a strong understanding of earthmoving machinery and plant

· Can confidently manage operators and site personnel

· Is highly organised and able to coordinate multiple jobs at once

· Has excellent communication and leadership skills

· Understands workplace health and safety requirements

· Can communicate professionally with clients and site management

· Is confident making operational decisions

· Can manage pressure and changing priorities

· Is practical, reliable and willing to be hands-on when required

· Takes ownership and follows issues through to completion

Experience working within mine-site environments and Tier 1 contractor requirements would be highly regarded.
