Cloud Infrastructure Lead Role - Permanent - 170-180K+ Super - Hybrid Sydney

This technical lead role owns infrastructure standards, governance and platform capability across the firm, which is 90% cloud hosted on Azure.

The scope is spanning network, server, domain, Azure, Microsoft 365 and backup. You will work closely with the MSP Managed Services Lead as well as being the senior technical Azure expert in the team.

Duties / Key Responsibilities

  • Define and enforce infrastructure standards and governance across Azure Cloud covering network, server, domain and backup architecture
  • Lead Azure and Microsoft 365 backend support and architecture, including Acronis backup governance and DR assurance
  • Lead technical due diligence and environment assessments for onboarding new member firms
  • Act as the escalation point for complex infrastructure, platform and cloud incidents, resolving issues at L3
  • Drive automation, monitoring and platform improvement initiatives, and mentor junior engineers

Skills and Experience

  • Deep hands-on technical capability across network, server, domain, Azure, Microsoft 365 and backup platforms, with the ability to design, implement and govern at enterprise scale
  • Demonstrated experience in an MSP context managing multi-tenant or multi-client infrastructure environments
  • Ability to define, document and enforce infrastructure standards, governance frameworks and DR assurance disciplines
  • Proven track record resolving complex L3 infrastructure incidents with root-cause resolution in multi-vendor, multi-platform environments
  • Experience driving infrastructure automation, monitoring improvements and platform engineering initiatives that deliver tangible operational uplift
  • Ability to collaborate across Australia and offshore teams, mentor offshore engineers, and engage technical stakeholders with credibility
