The Company
We're partnering with a leading Managed Services Provider that is supporting a large mining client through an exciting period of digital transformation. As investment in automation, AI, and modern technologies continues to grow, they're looking for an IT Automation Team Lead to join the team and drive a significant pipeline of upcoming projects.

Working within a co-managed IT environment, you'll spend four days onsite with a mining client in Marangaroo and one day in the West Perth office. You'll play a key role in shaping the organisation's automation strategy while leveraging the latest Microsoft AI technologies to deliver real business outcomes.

The Role
As the IT Automation Team Lead, you'll lead the design, development, and delivery of automation solutions across Microsoft 365, Azure, and the Power Platform.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll continue building solutions while mentoring others, acting as the technical escalation point, and driving innovation through AI and automation.

You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, delivering automation projects that improve efficiency, streamline processes, and solve complex business challenges using Microsoft's modern cloud and AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of automation solutions across Microsoft 365 and Azure
  • Build and maintain workflows using Power Automate, Power Apps, and third-party API integrations
  • Develop AI-enabled automation using Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, and other Microsoft AI technologies
  • Act as the Level 2/3 technical escalation point for automation and application support
  • Design automation architecture, improve business processes, and maintain governance standards
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and leadership to deliver projects on time
  • Document technical solutions and provide regular project updates and performance reporting

The Person

  • Previous experience leading or mentoring a small technical team
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate and Power Apps
  • Experience integrating systems using APIs and Azure cloud services
  • Solid understanding of automation architecture, workflows, and business process improvement
  • Experience working with Microsoft AI technologies including Copilot, Copilot Studio, or Azure AI Foundry
