About the Role
A leading Sydney university is seeking a passionate and driven Program Coordinator to lead its Women in Engineering and IT initiative. This is a unique opportunity to create real social change by designing, delivering and evaluating programs that ensure study and career pathways in engineering and IT are not limited by gender.
You'll coordinate a broad portfolio of initiatives — from primary and high school outreach programs and scholarships, to peer and industry mentoring, and community events — working alongside a supportive team and a network of industry, government and community partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Train and supervise the Program Officer and Student Engagement Officers
- Recruit and manage a team of staff and volunteers, including casual student staff
- Manage the program's budget, including income, expenditure and procurement
- Develop strategic documents to communicate priorities, plans and outcomes to the team
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships across the university, industry and community organisations
- Design new gender equity initiatives based on evidence, including mentoring and evaluation frameworks
- Communicate on complex issues to a wide range of audiences
- Support employees and manage their performance
About You
You'll bring:
- Strong leadership and stakeholder relationship management skills
- Proven project management experience, ideally within a complex, multi- stakeholder environment
- Knowledge of gender equity in Engineering and IT, or a demonstrated ability to quickly build this understanding
- Experience designing gender equity initiatives (mentoring, evaluation frameworks and tools)
- Financial and budget management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Cultural competence and the ability to work respectfully across diverse communities
- Excellent time and organisational management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines
Essential Requirements
- Completion of an undergraduate qualification, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Demonstrated years of experience working on gender equity in engineering and IT initiatives
This is a temp role that will run until the end of the year with an hourly rate of $73 per hour.
