About the role

The Product Engineer is responsible for owning product performance, yield, and reliability throughout the manufacturing lifecycle of optical transceivers. This role serves as the technical interface between design, manufacturing, test, and quality teams, ensuring product stability and continuous improvement from NPI through mass production.

Key responsibilities

Own product performance in manufacturing: yield, reliability, and field performance

Analyze and drive improvement in yield loss, failure modes, and customer returns

Lead failure analysis (FA) and root cause investigations

Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Test Engineering, and Quality

Support NPI activities: product bring-up, debug and validation

Monitor product health: yield trends, reliability data, and RMA trends

Drive continuous improvement initiatives: cost reduction and quality improvement

Maintain product documentation and change control (ECO/ECN)

About you

Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related discipline

5+ years of experience in product engineering, optical module, or electronics manufacturing

Experience in optical transceiver products is highly preferred

Strong understanding of product architecture: optical transceiver modules (TOSA, ROSA, BOSA, PIC, DSP, PCB)

Knowledge of optical performance parameters (BER, OMA, ER, sensitivity) and electrical performance and signal integrity

Experience with yield analysis and data mining, failure analysis (FA), and reliability testing (HTOL, TC, Burn-in)

Familiarity with NPI phases (EVT/DVT/PVT) and manufacturing processes (SMT, DB, WB, AA, Test)

Strong analytical and system-level problem-solving skills

Excellent cross-functional communication and ability to manage multiple priorities
