We're growing, and we're looking for a Senior Accountant (Business Services) with 6+ years' experience to take real ownership — of a client portfolio, of the technical review across the team, and of your own career with us.

This is a review-focused senior role. You won't be grinding out preparation work, you'll be reviewing, leading and advising, working shoulder to shoulder with the Director on the technical and advisory side of the practice.

The role

Manage your own portfolio of clients as their key point of contact and trusted adviser

Review financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSF and individuals

Review BAS, IAS and other compliance obligations

Lead and mentor our junior accountants — developing their skills and setting the technical standard

Provide technical oversight of the bookkeeping team's work

Work directly with the Director on technical matters, advisory engagements and workflow

Get exposure beyond compliance — advisory, virtual CFO and more.

Help shape our systems, processes and workpapers

Liaise with the ATO and other external parties where required

About you

6+ years' experience in Australian public practice

Strong Australian tax and compliance knowledge across companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals

Confident reviewing financial statements and tax returns to a high standard

Comfortable across the technical side — Div 7A, CGT, FBT, SMSF and trust distributions

Strong attention to detail and sound technical judgement

Organised, proactive and confident owning your own deadlines

Experience with Xero and cloud-based accounting systems (XPM a plus)

CA or CPA qualified, or near completion
