Open Spaces Asset Planner contract role managing assets, renewal planning and data integrity

Your new local council
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Open Spaces Asset Planner to join a local government organisation on a short-term contract. This role will play a key part in supporting asset management planning, asset data quality improvements and long-term renewal planning across a diverse portfolio of community and open space infrastructure.

Your new role
Reporting into the Asset Management team, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving asset information, supporting asset inspections, and contributing to the development of long-term capital renewal programs for open space assets including playgrounds, park furniture, sporting facilities, pathways, lighting and other community infrastructure.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update asset records within corporate asset management systems.
  • Support asset inspections, data collection and data quality initiatives.
  • Develop and review asset management plans and renewal programs.
  • Assist with long-term capital planning and budgeting processes.
  • Analyse asset condition and performance data to support evidence-based decision making.
  • Work collaboratively with operational teams and internal stakeholders to improve asset management outcomes.
  • Respond to asset-related enquiries and provide technical support where required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience applying asset management principles and practices.
  • Experience preparing asset management plans, policies, strategies or standards.
  • Experience developing long-term capital renewal programs.
  • Strong analytical, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working with the Conquest Asset Management System or a similar asset management platform such as TechnologyOne or Confirm.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously.
