About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Workshop Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations and lead the technical workforce of our company. Reporting directly to the Managing Director (MD), the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing strong leadership across all workshop functions. This role is pivotal in driving operational readiness, enhancing productivity, and fostering a culture of safety and efficiency within the department.

Key responsibilities

Manage day-to-day workshop activities, supervise staff, and monitor the workings of the workshop to ensure seamless operations

Contribute to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies, and practices in collaboration with the management team

Establish work schedules, delegate tasks, and evaluate the performance and welfare of the workshop staff

Formulate and implement departmental policies to maximize output and ensure strict adherence to rules and regulations

Monitor workshop profitability, manage operational budgets, and prepare detailed reports for monthly and quarterly meetings

Oversee organizational safety practices, promote a safety-first culture, and serve as an active member of the Health and Safety Committee

Assess, request, and approve the procurement of materials, equipment, and tools necessary for workshop functions

Work closely with the Human Resources department to plan resource utilization and establish an effective organizational structure for the workshop

About you

Proven track record in workshop management or a similar supervisory capacity

Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse technical workforce

Deep understanding of workshop operations, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols

Ability to interpret financial reports, manage budgets, and implement process improvements

Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with senior management and staff
