We’re known for our commitment to quality, innovation, animal welfare, and our people — and we’re now looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our leadership team at our Murray Bridge facility.
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this hands-on leadership role gives you the chance to make a significant strategic impact in a fast-growing manufacturing business. You’ll provide robust financial oversight, drive process improvements, and build the capability of a small, high-performing finance team in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the full finance function, including accounts payable/receivable, cash flow management, fixed assets, general ledger, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and detailed variance analysis.
Own the annual budgeting process — partnering with department heads to deliver accurate, timely, and business-focused consolidated budgets.
Prepare high-quality, timely financial reporting, including monthly dashboards, weekly updates, P&L, balance sheet, forecasts, and insightful variance analysis.
Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and manage external audit processes efficiently.
Ensure timely and accurate lodgement of BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax, and other regulatory returns.
Strengthen governance, compliance, risk management, and financial policy frameworks.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems, processes, and reporting tools.
Mentor, develop, and lead the finance team to build capability and alignment with broader business objectives.
About You
You’re a commercially astute, qualified finance professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and genuinely enjoys supporting a growing manufacturing/primary production business.
Essential Requirements
CA or CPA qualification (mandatory)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Financial Controller (or equivalent senior finance leadership) role
Tertiary degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including AASB standards
Proven leadership and team development experience
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Full Australian work rights
Highly Regarded
Previous experience in manufacturing, agribusiness, or primary production
Proficiency with Power BI (or similar) and financial dashboard development
Exposure to Carbon Accounting or sustainability reporting
You are meticulous, proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to translate complex numbers into clear, actionable business insights.
