We are currently seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team at our processing facility located in beautiful Stawell, Victoria 3380.
About the Role
As an Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automation and control systems across the site. Working closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams, you will deliver innovative automation solutions that improve operational performance, safety, reliability, and productivity.
This hands-on role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of automation projects, integrating hardware and software technologies while supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

About You
You are a motivated and technically capable automation professional with a strong background in industrial control systems and electrical engineering. You enjoy solving complex problems, driving continuous improvement, and working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience working with Allen-Bradley PLC systems
Experience in industrial electrical maintenance
Experience within FMCG or food manufacturing environments
Strong understanding of industrial automation systems
Sound knowledge of computer hardware and peripheral devices
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Office 2013 and later)
Qualifications
Certificate III in Data and Voice Communications (or equivalent)
Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent (desirable)
Current unrestricted Electrical Worker Licence
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop automation and control systems in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Program, configure, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, DCS, and associated control devices.
Integrate sensors, actuators, communication networks, and hardware into reliable control systems.
Test, troubleshoot, commission, and optimise automation systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Analyse system performance and implement improvements that enhance reliability, productivity, and efficiency.
Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and project stakeholders to deliver automation solutions aligned with operational objectives.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, standards, and system records.
Keep up to date with emerging automation technologies and industry best practices.
Mentor and support electrical trades personnel by providing coaching and upskilling in automation systems.
