The Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Workplace Relations Manager to join a small Government agency in Canberra.

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for providing expert advice across workplace relations, enterprise bargaining, employee relations and performance matters. Working closely with senior leaders you'll help shape workplace policy, manage complex employment matters and contribute to workforce reform initiatives that support organisational success.

The engagement of this role is open for conversation - we are considering contractors, and/or those who are ongoing and seeking an s26 to another agency.

Duties

  • Lead workplace relations initiatives, including enterprise bargaining and employment framework reviews.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior leaders on complex employee relations, performance and conduct matters.
  • Manage organisational workplace relations risks while ensuring compliance with legislation and APS employment frameworks.
  • Develop and review workplace policies, procedures and guidance materials.
  • Build productive relationships with internal stakeholders, employee representatives and unions.
  • Lead workplace relations projects that support organisational change and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Significant experience in workplace relations, employee relations and performance management in a Government setting
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, enterprise agreements and workplace policy.
  • Experience providing strategic advice on complex and sensitive workforce matters.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience developing workplace policies, frameworks or people initiatives.
  • Proven leadership capability with the ability to deliver outcomes in a complex government environment.
  • Current security clearance and Australian Citizenship

Experience supporting enterprise bargaining or organisational change within the APS or broader public sector will be highly regarded.
