About the Company

Our client is a highly regarded Tier 1 fire protection contractor with a strong presence across New South Wales.

Specialising in the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of commercial fire protection systems, they deliver compliant fire safety solutions across commercial offices, healthcare facilities, education precincts, industrial sites, retail centres, government assets, and major infrastructure projects.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Fire Service Team Leader to lead their commercial service team across Sydney.

This role is ideal for an experienced fire protection professional who enjoys leading technicians, managing client relationships, and ensuring the highest standards of compliance, safety, and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Leading and mentoring a team of Fire Service Technicians across multiple sites

Coordinating preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, and reactive service works

Managing daily service schedules, labour allocation, and technician productivity

Building and maintaining strong relationships with commercial clients

Conducting quality inspections and ensuring work is completed to Australian Standards

Providing technical support, fault-finding assistance, and mentoring to technicians

Preparing quotations, defect reports, variations, and maintenance proposals

Managing subcontractors where required and ensuring quality workmanship

Monitoring service KPIs, response times, customer satisfaction, and operational performance

Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, Australian Standards, and company procedures

Supporting business growth through identifying additional service opportunities and maintaining long-term client relationships

Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Proven experience as a Fire Service Team Leader, Fire Service Supervisor, Senior Fire Technician, or Fire Service Coordinator

Trade qualification or demonstrated experience within the Fire Protection industry

Strong commercial fire service and maintenance experience

Experience leading and mentoring service technicians

Excellent working knowledge of Australian Standards including:

AS 1851 – Routine Service of Fire Protection Systems

AS 1670 – Fire Detection and Alarm Systems

AS 2118 – Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems

AS 2419 – Fire Hydrant Installations

AS 2444 – Portable Fire Extinguishers

Experience servicing and maintaining:

Fire detection and alarm systems

Sprinkler systems

Fire hydrants and hose reels

Emergency and exit lighting

Fire pumps

Special hazards and gaseous suppression systems (desirable)

Strong understanding of maintenance contracts, compliance reporting, and client management

Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Current Australian Driver's Licence

Desirable Experience

Experience managing large commercial fire maintenance portfolios

Exposure to Tier 1 and Tier 2 commercial environments

Experience working across healthcare, data centres, education, industrial, government, and critical infrastructure facilities

Proven ability to improve service delivery, operational systems, and team performance
