About the Role
This Workplace Relations Specialist position is a hands-on role centred around managing complex employee relations matters while contributing to broader organisational initiatives. You will act as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing pragmatic guidance across a range of sensitive and high-impact scenarios.
Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end management of complex employee relations cases and disputes
- Supporting and representing the organisation in Fair Work proceedings
- Advising on industrial relations, employment law and risk mitigation
- Contributing to Enterprise Agreement negotiations and implementation
- Supporting delivery of the Workplace Relations roadmap
- Advising on workforce change, including restructures and outsourcing
- Reviewing and improving policies and procedures
- Engaging with stakeholders across the business, including unions
- This is a varied role blending operational casework with strategic input, requiring strong judgement and commercial awareness.
The Successful Candidate
You will be an experienced HR or Workplace Relations professional confident operating in a structured, complex environment.
Key requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience in employee or industrial relations
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation
- Proven experience managing complex ER matters
- Exposure to Fair Work processes, including disputes and conciliations
- Experience working with unions and enterprise agreements
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to balance risk and business outcomes
- Qualifications:
- Degree in HR, Industrial Relations, Law or Commerce
- Highly regarded:
- Experience supporting organisational change, restructures or workforce transitions
- You will bring a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and the ability to operate effectively across ambiguity.
