AutoPro Newman is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Parts Interpreter to join our team. This is a hands-on role supporting retail, trade, mining, construction, transport, and fleet customers with automotive and industrial parts solutions.

Location: Newman, WA. This role is available on either a residential basis in Newman or FIFO from Perth, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic regional environment servicing key mining, construction, transport, and trade customers.

As the Parts Interpreter, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, accurately identifying and sourcing parts, managing customer orders, and supporting the day-to-day operations of our busy parts department. You will play a key role in building customer relationships, growing sales, and ensuring customers receive the right parts, on time and at competitive prices.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work across both retail and commercial customer segments while developing your knowledge of automotive, mining, construction, and industrial products.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Service

Provide outstanding service to retail, trade, and commercial customers.

Identify customer needs and recommend suitable automotive, industrial, and equipment parts solutions.

Process sales transactions, customer orders, quotations, and invoices.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with trade, mining, construction, and fleet customers.

Promote products, services, and special offers to maximise sales opportunities.

Follow up customer enquiries and quotations to support sales growth.

Parts Interpretation & Coordination

Accurately interpret customer requirements using catalogues, electronic parts systems, and supplier resources.

Source products from suppliers and coordinate procurement when stock is unavailable.

Manage customer orders from enquiry through to delivery.

Monitor backorders and communicate order status updates to customers.

Work closely with suppliers to ensure product availability and timely delivery.

Commercial Account Support

Support key trade and commercial customers with their ongoing parts requirements.

Prepare quotations and assist customers with technical product enquiries.

Coordinate urgent and scheduled parts supply requirements.

Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and commercial customers.

Identify opportunities to improve customer service and grow account sales.

Inventory & Store Operations

Receive, check, and process incoming stock.

Maintain accurate stock levels and inventory records.

Assist with stock takes and inventory control activities.

Ensure products are merchandised and displayed effectively.

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.

Skills & Experience
Essential

Strong customer service and sales skills.

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Experience in retail sales, trade sales, customer service, or parts sales.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Competent computer skills and experience using point-of-sale or inventory management systems.

Desirable

Experience in automotive parts sales or parts interpreting.

Knowledge of automotive, mining, construction, industrial, or heavy equipment parts.

Experience working with trade or commercial customers.

Forklift licence.

Current driver's licence.
