Lifecycle Marketing Manager
Location: Newcastle, NSW | Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days WFH)
A little bit about us
Hello, we’re Mustard and we make colourful furniture designed to bring joy to everyday spaces. We’re a growing, design-led brand selling direct to customers around the world, alongside an expanding B2B channel.
We care about our customers, our team and the experience people have with us from first click to years down the track. Email and SMS are an important part of how we stay connected with our community. We’re ready to deepen our focus, building more personalisation into the customer journey and laying the foundations for a truly considered lifecycle experience.
The Role
Mustard is looking for a Lifecycle Marketing Manager to help shape and grow how we connect with customers across their journey, with email and SMS as your initial core focus. This means thinking about how we communicate with customers over time, from first interaction through to repeat purchase and beyond.
You will report to our Head of Marketing but collaborate closely with our Ecommerce, Creative, Design and Wholesale and Trade Teams.
This is a hands-on role for someone experienced in Klaviyo who enjoys building thoughtful customer journeys, improving performance steadily over time, and bringing clarity to lifecycle marketing.
You'll spend most of your time in the detail, refining flows, improving segmentation and helping us become more thoughtful about how and when we communicate with different customers. You’ll play an important part in shaping how we think about lifecycle over time, starting with email and SMS as the foundation.
What’s in it for you?
💡 The chance to be part of a team in a company that’s scaling fast
🌍 Work on exciting projects that directly impact customers around the world
🤝 Collaborate with passionate teams who love what they do
🚀 Be part of a growing business where your ideas can shape how we do things
What you’ll be doing
Develop and refine lifecycle journeys
Build, manage and improve automated lifecycle journeys, including welcome, browse, cart, post-purchase and win-back flows
Evolve lifecycle stages so they better reflect how our customers shop
Maintain list health, deliverability and best practice standards
Bring structure and consistency to how we approach the customer journey across the four regions we work in
Take a thoughtful view of our end-to-end customer journey and apply improvements through lifecycle activity
Plan and deliver campaigns
Build and send campaigns that are relevant, on-brand and considered, including segmentation and testing
Support the delivery of the weekly campaign schedule by working closely with the Marketing and Design teams to execute email and SMS campaigns in Klaviyo.
Help shape a consistent, thoughtful journey rather than one-off emails
Integrate SMS in a way that complements email
Maintain careful QA and performance tracking processes
Improve retention and customer value
Identify ways to improve repeat purchase through better journey design
Refine post-purchase communication and cross-sell logic
Use segmentation and behavioural insight to make communications more meaningful
Run structured tests and build on what works
Help tailor lifecycle journeys for different customer groups, including DTC and B2B
Measure, learn and improve
Analyse customer and campaign data to understand what’s working and where we can improve.
Report on CRM performance and share clear, practical insights with the team.
Use data and customer behaviour to refine campaigns, flows and lifecycle journeys.
Contribute ideas that help us continue to evolve our lifecycle approach over time.
Hello, is it you we’re looking for?
You likely have 3 to 6 years’ experience in CRM, lifecycle or retention marketing within eCommerce or retail. You are:
Experienced in Klaviyo, including flows, segmentation, campaigns and SMS
Comfortable working with data and interpreting performance
Detail-oriented and thoughtful in your approach
Proactive, organised and commercially aware
Motivated by building something carefully and improving it over time
You don’t need to be a senior strategist. You do need to be someone who can work confidently and independently in this space, while staying connected to the broader team.
How we work
We’re collaborative, practical and kind.
We believe in getting better every day, in small, meaningful ways. We care about doing good work, supporting each other and building something we’re proud of. Ideas are welcomed, ownership is shared and progress is steady.
This is an opportunity to shape an important part of the customer experience within a growing brand that values creativity, clarity and care.
