Public Sector People are partnering with a metropolitan Melbourne council to recruit an experienced Strategic Open Space Planner for a long-term contract through to approximately June 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a significant urban renewal precinct, helping shape the future delivery of public open space, recreation facilities and community infrastructure. About the Role You will:

• Develop strategic open space and recreation planning
• Help determine future open space and facility requirements
• Contribute to concept designs, masterplans and precinct planning
• Provide strategic and design input into future public spaces
• Manage projects and external consultants
• Work closely with Council, government and community stakeholders
• Prepare clear reports, strategies and presentations

About You We're looking for someone with:

• Experience in strategic open space planning
• A background in landscape architecture, landscape design, urban design or planning
• Strong project management and strategic thinking skills
• Experience developing plans, strategies or masterplans
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Government experience highly regarded
