About the role

Due to growth, we are currently seeking an additional team member in the role of Farm Hand - Maintenance Team, servicing farms in the Winchelsea and Barwonleigh area, just outside of Geelong, Victoria.

This is a casual position with possibility for conversion to permanent full time for the right person. This is a genuinely hands-on role contributing to the daily maintenance and operational needs of our farming enterprise. You will be part of a busy and dedicated maintenance team responsible for keeping our facilities in excellent working condition, supporting the smooth running of our pork production operations.

You'll be the person out on the farm repairing, maintaining, building, installing and improving the infrastructure - from fencing and waters systems to feed equipment, huts pumps and site utilities, you'll play a critical role that supports our farming operations.

Key responsibilities

As a member of our Maintenance Team, your duties will include:

Performing general maintenance tasks across farm facilities and infrastructure

Assisting with repairs to farm equipment, buildings and fencing

Maintaining farm grounds and ensuring facilities are clean and safe

Supporting the maintenance team with routine upkeep of machinery and tools

Assisting with facility improvements and seasonal maintenance projects

Following health and safety protocols and reporting any hazards or damage

Working collaboratively with other maintenance team members and farm staff

Performing other general farm duties as required

This is not a mechanic role - does not require mechanical servicing of tractors, or passenger vehicles.

What we're looking for

To succeed in this role, you should have:

Experience in farm work, maintenance, or a related trade (preferred but not essential)

A willingness to learn and develop practical skills

Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions

Reliable and punctual work ethic suitable for casual arrangements

Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

A current Australian driver's licence (desirable)

A genuine interest in agriculture and livestock farming

Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards

Experience in any of the following areas will be considered favourably: Fencing, Water systems, Pumps, Welding and fabrication, Buildings and infrastructure, Electrical maintenance, Plumbing, General maintenance - you do not need all to apply.
