About the role
The Hospitality Institute of NSW is seeking a Trainer & Assessor - Security Operations (CPP20218) to join our vocational training team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality training and assessment in security operations, preparing students for rewarding careers in the security industry. Based in Sydney NSW, you will play a vital role in developing the next generation of security professionals by delivering engaging, practical instruction aligned with the CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations qualification.
Key responsibilities
Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions in security operations, covering theoretical knowledge and practical skills required by the CPP20218 qualification
Conduct fair, valid and reliable assessments of student competency against industry standards and training package requirements
Provide constructive feedback to students and support their progress towards achieving competency
Maintain detailed and accurate records of student attendance, progress and assessment outcomes
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in delivery and assessment practices across the institute
Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of vocational students
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the training programme through feedback and evaluation
Maintain compliance with training package requirements and regulatory obligations
What we're looking for
TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or equivalent/upgrade pathway)
CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations
Current NSW Class 1A Security Licence
Current NSW Class 2D (Security Trainer) licence
Eligible for or currently approved as a SLED Security Trainer (Subject to SLED Security Trainer approval)
Minimum 3 years experience as a Security Officer (Recently within Australia)
Current National Police Check
Availability to deliver full-day, in-person training on weekdays (Mon–Fri)
