Working in our wholly owned subsidiary company, Australian Rainforest Honey, this role is accountable to the General Manager of apiary operations and is responsible for managing and overseeing the apiary and the breeding, raising and maintaining of the bees at Australian Rainforest Honey.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Breeding and raising bees for the production of honey and pollinating crops

Monitoring and maintaining the health and condition of the bees

Managing pests and diseases accordingly

Managing the flowering lifecycle to ensure key honey bearing flora is appropriately utilised

Manage the pollination needs of the horticulture crops

Manage the risks associated with pesticide use

Manage the nutritional inputs from targeted flowering events and maximise colony populations

Other duties as required

Essential Criteria, Skills and Experience:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role

Proven skill in breeding, raising and maintaining bees

Ability to work in a team environment

What You Should Know About Our Operations

Our business is widespread, growing walnuts and almonds in the Riverina Region in New South Wales, pecans in Moree and macadamias, avocados, mangoes and lemons in Bundaberg, Queensland. In addition to fruit and nut growing, we also operate apiaries located in Temora, Nowra and Dubbo.

Off the paddock, we operate nut processing and packing facilities in Leeton, Toowoomba and Bundaberg as well as fruit packing and processing in Bundaberg. In addition, our shared services teams (Finance, Sales, ESG, Safety and People & Culture) are located across all of our sites as well as the Brisbane, Melbourne and Griffith offices.
