The Opportunity
Join our fast-paced, growing team as a Machine Operator at our potato and onion packaging facility. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining automated packing equipment to ensure efficient and accurate processing of fresh produce. We're looking for reliable, safety-focused individuals with strong attention to detail and a willingness to work in a team environment. Previous experience in food production or machine operation is a plus, but on-the-job training is provided.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor automated packaging machinery for potatoes and onions
Ensure products are packed according to quality and weight specifications
Perform routine equipment checks and minor maintenance to minimise downtime
Identify and report equipment malfunctions or product issues promptly
Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with food safety and workplace health standards
Accurately complete production and quality control paperwork
Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets
Follow all company safety protocols and food handling procedures
Lift, move, and load materials as required (may involve moderate physical activity)
Shift times (starting 5.00am and 6.00am until production finishes, which will be approximately 10 hours)
What we are looking for
Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or food processing environment (preferred but not required)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends or overtime as needed
Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
